Oppenheimer PR Campaign

Set to release July 21, 2023, Christopher Nolan’s next film Oppenheimer is the story of the biggest bomb the world had ever seen…and the film needs to succeed at the box office. Badly. It’s a test case for an expensive, historically based film with a star-studded cast, as the question hangs in the air: will audiences see a big-budget movie that isn’t centered around super heroes, the Fast franchise, Star Wars, or Tom Cruise. And much like Cruise, the flick will be doing all its own stunts to bring audiences to theaters against the competition of a new Mission Impossible and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

Created as my dissertation while at Brunel University London, this Oppenheimer PR campaign focuses heavily on earned media and events to target multiple potential audiences. I created a timeline, scope, and budget for the campaign, as well as an event plan and event budget as well.

Below you’ll find sample press releases, sample social posts, and select images and pages from the campaign submitted for a dissertation (September 2022).
